The Historic University of Utah Kingsbury Hall Seismic Upgrade and Renovation revitalized one of Salt Lake City’s iconic performing arts venues. Originally opened in 1930, Kingsbury Hall has long served as a hub for concerts, lectures, theater, dance, commencements, and cultural events. The renovation delivered seismic upgrades, air conditioning, improved seating, expanded restrooms, a movable orchestra platform, new dressing and practice rooms, enhanced lobby and plaza areas, and a significantly enlarged stage for contemporary productions. The project preserved Kingsbury Hall’s architectural character and historic importance, ensuring its continued role as a premier university and community performance space.
